Chiufen, golden town

Long time ago, Chiufen was a quiet village on a rainy hill in northn Taiwan and people seldom know her. But one day, some women were washing dishes in the river when they found gold. The news of their dicovery traveled quickly. Hoping to get rich, bore than four thousand people moved to the small town. About 1930's, the light of Chiufen were so bright that sailors called it "Little Shanghai". Until 1940's, the gold was gone then people moved away and Chiufen became a quiet village once more.Today, people are returning to Chiufen where it is home to many gift shops and teahouse. Every weelkend, there are many visitors on the narrow streets. But, it is usually rains. I think that people like Chiufen because of old shops and houses. It is seem to come back past time.
